Our Story
Moston area is identified amongst the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in the United Kingdom in terms of income deprivation as it relates families, access to good health care services, educational empowerment, and its facilities. There are a lot of gang factions in the area and it’s gradually spreading. Young ones are being groomed daily into these groups.

A great concern with these ills and having a negative impact on the community. Many have made several attempts to try to persuade these young lads to stay away from it and have seen real-life situations where people get hurt in our community.

We noticed there was an increase in knife crime incidents in the area and the damage it was causing families and visitors alike became a wakeup call for K.I.N.G.S Foundation and wanted to take action to help support those affected and work with these young people to prevent them being groomed into gang culture.

Award.

On Friday 9th February 2024 at Forever Manchester’s Birthday Party, we were pleased to announce Kings Foundation as winner of our Community Group of the Year Award. The award has been kindly sponsored by CDL.

The Community Group of the Year Award is given in recognition of a community group or project that has made a meaningful and significant impact, strengthening communities, making a difference and putting smiles on people’s faces.

Kings Foundation work to reduce knife crime and gang culture around the community in Moston, Greater Manchester.

Moston is amongst the 10% most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK and unfortunately there are a lot of gangs in the area that young people get involved with. Born from the desire to take action, Kings Foundation help to support those affected, and work with young people in the community to prevent them from being groomed into gang culture.

They run educational workshops, including visits from Greater Manchester Police, and provide social activities with a focus on breaking down gang barriers and teaching young people the consequences and implications of knife crime and gang culture.

The award was presented on the night by Frank Robinson at CDL.

Our Mission
We created Kings Foundation to provide a tool kit for the BME African teen boys and young adults (aged 11-21) to empower them for the betterment of their lives thereby becoming a role model for the next generation. These young lads need help NOW because the future of this next generation of leaders are in these age categories

We run workshops and social activities to break down gang barriers and help teach these young people the consequences and implications of knife crimes and being part of gang culture. We have engaged with users of the project, including families, who know the importance of what we are doing and aim to reduce knife crime in the area, as well as unifying the community. We have also engaged with 7 different families who also share the same worries and concerns on the rise of knife crime and gang grooming in Greater Manchester as a whole.

We believe with the support of everyone working together in achieving a common goal the sky will be our limit and then we can have a more friendly and homely environment.

Together We Can!!!
